How to connect any stethoscope to the Internet
- it’s as simple as 1-2-3
- Remove the chest piece and insert skōp into the stethoscope – it takes only a few seconds and the insertion is reversible.
- Turn ON Bluetooth to transmit to any other stethoscope equipped with skōp, PC or Smartphone, and use the scope exactly as before.
- From there, it’s a short WiFi step to the Internet.
The stethoscope remains the medical device with the highest diagnostic utility for evaluation of the heart, lungs and cardio-vasculature. So, it made sense for Sigma to introduce it into the twenty-first century.
In fact, this little insert changes the game –
- Now, any other skōp within range can share the sounds of the patient as they are being recorded. Imagine the value of that feature on rounds with colleagues or students.
- When used with a Smartphone, the sounds can be played back at full and half speed while viewing the phonocardiograph.
- The spectrograph is also available. This acoustic tool for analyzing speech has been around for 50 years, and is now enjoying a renaissance in the analysis of heart and lung sounds.
- An optional feature is a complete library of heart and lung sounds – this is especially useful for students of auscultation.
This software has also been integrated into patient@HOME! for use in monitoring the patient at home
